What transparency actually looks like

May 5, 2026  ·  By The AARU Foundation  ·  Behind the Scenes

Plenty of organisations use the word transparency. We wanted to write down what it actually means in our day-to-day work, so you can hold us to it.

We tie every gift to a name

Donations are never pooled into a vague fund unless you choose the general fund on purpose. Your gift is connected to the person or campaign you selected.

We publish progress, not just appeals

An appeal asks. An update reports. We try to send far more updates than appeals, because you deserve to see the second half of the story.

We share the hard news too

If a case slows down or changes, we tell you. Transparency that only shares good news is just marketing.

Hold us to all of this. It is the standard we chose for ourselves.
